I could devote pages and pages to the various situations we've gotten ourselves into in our pursuit of In N Out burger (including being followed by a crazy person after we found ourselves in an underpass below the freeway in Las Vegas trying to walk there...).
But it really is the best burger in the world. Here's a tip though - it has a secret menu so at the very least get the burger 'animal style' (that's fried in mustard with onions and secret sauce), also get the fries that way - although they are still superb plain.
We've hunted high and low in the UK for an equivalent and as yet, have been disappointed. Although if you know of one please leave a comment!!
